Quick update
I’ve been neglecting this site because most of my free time is now going in to TubeClockDB.com. New and noteworthy feature: our own little social network names Tube Clock Talk. That’s right, we took something nerdy (vacuum tubes) made it nerdier (made them in to clocks) and then pretend to be cool (social network.) Go check it out. I’m @stuckey
Also worth noting, I am now producing video reviews of my clocks. So far, I’ve documented the Nocrotec V600, X2000 and NixiChron. Coming soon: the Numimini. Read more
Let’s screw up BP’s ad budget
If you’re upset that BP is trying to control information about their oil spill by buying oil tankers full of advertising (get it?) from Google, here is a simple solution:
Step one: Search for “Oil Spill” on the Google
Step two: Click on the sponsored ad
Step three: Profit (for Google at least…)
Personal Website Hosting
For the third time in one month, someone asked me how they should host their low-traffic, personal site. I’ve come up with a pretty good analogy that hopefully will help other people.
In this world, there are three basic types of hosting: Single application, Shared and Dedicated. VPS, “Cloud,” EC2 and others are just variations of these three varieties.
Think of hosting like the place that you live. It can be a high density apartment building or a single family house on a sprawling plot of land. Hosting is like this too. Read more
Flash on the Nexus One running Froyo
Well, I manually updated to Froyo on my Nexus One and some video sites, like South Park Studios, work great. After upgrading to Froyo, you have to manually add the Flash beta plugin but after that, you’re set. Sadly, Hulu and ABC don’t work. If you find more video sites that work, please post them in the comments so I can add them as well! Read more

Google Wave App store domain names
I have a collection of about 50 Google Wave domain names that I am considering selling; preferably as a package. They all center around the concept of a wavelet and have a strong marketing focus. These would be perfect a premium application store, service or other Google Wave – centered site. As Wave grows, Google will enable to setup private installations of Wave as well as add premium features. This is where the big commercial opportunity is. Imagine a store that featured premium Wave applications, a service that enabled deep content integration, or even an affiliate program within the context of Wave. All are possible. Read more

As always, you can control what is published about you by changing your Facebook privacy settings. Read more
Simple Social Media
We recently just launched Social Bundle to help small and medium businesses build out their social presence online. The program is simple – it costs less than a cell phone and we will build a custom Facebook Page / public profile, a personalized Twitter account and monitor both of them for you.
We focus on the core Facebook offering; we believe this is the basis for any good social media campaign. We build a solid page and tweak it to match your business goals. From there, we can build custom content tabs, integrate with your existing website, blog, etc. We do all of the work for you.

This is why Sprint Nextel is in Trouble
It is not possible to opt out of your contract because of a material change and keep your service.
Background:
I am 22 months in to a 24 month contract. Sprint made a material change on Jan 1 2010 to my account and on principal alone, I wanted to terminate my contract. In the contract that Sprint and I agreed to, I gave them the right to change the contract and they granted me the right to exit the contract for a material change. Read more
