One Cold Night in Minneapolis

This is a video I shot over the course of three hours one cold evening.  This time lapse was filmed as a 1080p HD video and speed up in After Effects.  The source footage for most of the clips was 5 minutes long and sped up to 2,000% yielding a 15 second clip.  For short [...]

Minneapolis Blizzard 2010

Well, it snowed.  It snowed a lot.  We have gotten over 20 inches so far and it will not be stopping for a few more hours.  So, I grabbed my camera, Katie and went to take some photos of the Walker Sculpture garden in the snow!  Enjoy the photos and videos from this afternoon.

Are you really that desperate for attention?

I found this during the Flugtag this past summer in Saint Paul.  This photo was taken at the intersection of Market Street and West 4th Street.

225 South 6th Street is….pink?

Here is an odd discovery.  For the last several hours, 225 South 6th Street a.k.a. Capella Tower has been glowing pink.  Normal, the crown on top of the building glows a vibrant cool white.  The only time I’ve seen this color is when the HID lights are warming up.  Is this intentional? (sorry for the [...]

A series of photographs from around Minneapolis in the early evening.

That looks dangerous

This pretty much is the definition of the WTF tag.  Why would a sewer grate be charged to 480 volts?  That seems like a bad idea, imo.  (I took this photo on 7/11/2010 in Minneapolis off of 3rd Avenue downtown.) If you work for the city of Minneapolis and have any idea what this is [...]

Minneapolis Clouds

I’ve been experimenting with ways to take the best time lapse using the Canon 5d Mark II and I’ve come up with two distinct methods that are worth sharing.  The first method involves shooting normal video and speeding it up while the second involves a more traditional approach of shooting frames and combining them to [...]

World’s largest ball of twine

On a whim today, we went to the world’s larges ball of twine wound by a single person.  This monstrosity is located in Darwin Minnesota is is clearly the center of this god awful little town. The inspiration for this odyssey was Sam and Max Hit the Road.

A Fall Day in Minneapolis

This is a video I produced on 10/31/2009.  It was a dreary fall afternoon and I wanted to capture the blah-feeling of the day.  Watch it here or head on over to Vimeo to add it to a group, comment, etc.. Most of the clips that are in this video will be available for purchase [...]
